Australian police have charged a man after he purportedly sneaked into a lady's home, drank her champagne, and nodded off.

Esperance cop in-control Richard Moore said a lady came all the way back to discover the hoodlum sound sleeping on her bed, in the wake of bringing down the majority of a jug of champagne.

"He has devoured some champagne, I don't know how costly it was but rather in the photograph, it looks extravagant," Senior Sergeant Moore said.

"It more likely than not been very strong in light of the fact that he has nodded off in the occupant's bed, which is certainly not something to be thankful for, and the proprietor has come all the way back and found this male individual in her bed."

The lady immediately left the property and called police.

He said the man was exceptionally inebriated when arrested, and police had accepted him to Esperance Hospital as a safety measure.

Senior Sergeant Moore said the 36-year-old recorded a blood liquor perusing multiple times the legitimate driving cutoff when tried by police.

"This is somewhat peculiar, to nod off in the bed and be laying there when police came in," he said.

The 36-year-old was accused of thievery and taking and will show up in Esperance Magistrate Court on August 8
